Intex Aqua 5.5 VR Plus  Review - Dont Buy Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ - Board complaint and low battery backup issues

I bought an Intex Aqua 5.5 VR Plus on April 23, 2018, With in a week it started to show Battery backup issues. Even if it is charged full, it will completely drain out with in 12 or 13 hours. During this time No internet was used, only 2 or 3 calls were done. Some times there was issues with net connection also.

I took this mobile to Intex authorised service center in Aluva ( Touchees communications, 1st Floor, Mulavarickal Building. Opp. Private Bus Stand, Market, Road, Aluva, Kerala - 683101 ). After checking they informed me that the mobile is showing some Board issues. So I asked for replacement. They told me that replacement was possible if it happened with in week after the purchase. They suggested for a board repair and send the mobile for board fixing and I need to wait for a couple of weeks. I am sure that this was an inbuilt error and I dont belive this thing will work. I bought this as i saw it was a "Make in India" product. If Intex cannot maintain atleast some basic Qualities for their product...then why they are making such CRAPs. So I humbly request NOT to buy any of their mobiles.

Here is the timeline:

  • On April 16 2018, I orderd INTEX AQUA 5.5 VR Plus via Flipkart
  • I received it on April 23, 2018
  • A couple of weeks later, I noticed the power backup Issue.
  • On June 9, 2018 , I visited the Service Center (Touchees communications) at Aluva Ernakulam. They checked the mobile and said there was some board issues and will send to replace board. Job Sheet number which I received on my mobile after submission of mobile is 806096245003T001
  • Next Day I contacted INTEX via Phone (at Intex Helpline Number: 1860 108 5555) and their Facebook page and requested for Money Refund. Later their executives called me and offered new phone. I asked them , If the new mobile show any such issues, then what will happen. To this they answered that they will give a refund.  I have the audio clip (3:59 duration) of the conversation  happened on June 11, 2018 at 12:36 pm from the mobile +917012400239 .   • On  June 28, 2018, I received a New phone (same model).
  • On July 4,2018 ,  I have noticed that battery backup is just 16 hours when internet is connected and watzup is the only thing which is installed. Infact there are lots of third party apps (like gaana , amazon shopping etc) which Intex have built in with their version of Android Operating System, which I have disabled.
  • July 6, I have charged the mobile to 100%. Now disabled the internet and trying to check how long it will last.
  • July 7, Even after fully charged, the charge last only for less than 10 hours, without using internet ( in Cellular data NOT enabled mode). I have tried all the methods specified by the INTEX customer care team, but nothing worked.
  • July 14, 2018 . I had submitted the phone to their Customer care center at Aluva. I had asked them for a refund.
  • July 16. I have received a call from a Customer care person saying the issue is fixed and to collect the phone. I said , I don't want that phone anymore and I need the refund.
  • July 17. Here is the Job sheet number which I received after submitting the phone 807176245003T001
  • July 18: Received a call from Intex customer care ( number +91-1203881000 ) stating that  they have forwarded the request for further action and things will get resolved by July 23, 2018.
  • July 21: I received call from an Intex Personal from Chennai, I conveyed the details and copy of invoice and he confirmed that issue will be solved by Monday July 23, 2018
  • July 23, 2018: Received call from Chennai, stating that Approval for Refund has been received and send the scanned copy of ID proof and Canceled Cheque. I have send the requested details.
  • Intex have initiated the refund process. They have assured the refund and will receive with in 7 to 10 days.
  • On July 28, I received a call from Chennai, stating that the refund can be processed only to Name given in invoice. I had purchased the mobile through my friends Flipkart account, for payment I used my Net Banking details. So i was asked to send my friends ID proof. I whatsapped all the docs on July 30, 2018
  • On Aug 1, 2018, I received another call from a customer care person assuring that refund will be done on or before August 15, 2018.Voice Clip
  • On Aug 16,2018 , I inquired about the refund. They said that, refund cheque has been released and will reach shortly.
  • On Aug 22,2018, an Intex executive called me to inform that Cheque has been arrived at Intex Cust care center at Kadavanthra , Ernakulam and I have to collect that from there.
  • On Aug 28, 2018, I received an Account payee cheque towards against the refund amount. The cheque was dated August 10, 2018. They had promised to settle the issue by Aug 15. But due to rain and flood in kerala, The cheque reached of their office on Aug 22. I have signed the No-more-dispute form and collected the cheque.
  • On Aug 31, 2018, I received the refund cash in my account.

It was  HAPPY Ending..

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to MTS customer service team as they carried out this refund process smoothly. During this process, there was no moments of disappointment. They were regularly contacting me and updating the progress of refund process. Congrats and All the best for their service.
